January 29, 2007 at 9:47 pm (Day to Day)

Yesterday was so long but in the best of ways. Here are the highlights of the day:

As promised, there was a ten mile jog around the neighborhood. Stephanie and I had lunch together at Heavenly Buns beforehand. She watched me eat a turkey combo as well as watching the Disney Channel on the television behind me. My ability to eat would have been much more entertaining than The Suite Life of Zack and Cody I imagined. I was oh-so wrong, however, or at least to Stephanie. As for the actual jog, I brought water to keep me company for the dry, thirsty times and The Police to keep the bad music from invading my IPod.  True story—somebody thought it would be a great idea to drive past me and vandalize God’s green earth by throwing a styrofoam cup of water at it. Fortunately for the earth, my right shoulder happened to be in the way and soften the blow to the ground. That makes me a hero, like the guy who jumps on the grenade to save his comrades. So anyways, somebody decide to throw a styrofoam cup at me. It was the first violent, running-related incident I was involved in. It didn’t really bother me but for a minute. It was very rude and impolite, though. Young kids, with their rock n’roll 8-track music…

I went to the college rendition of life group with people from H20. It was fantastic, partially because I got a big man hug from Beach that made my heart smile as well as my face. We caught up on things before the group started. I ate beforehand and was sad that there was no room in my belly for tacos and brownies. Jell-O, that’s another matter however. Bill Cosby said there’s always room for Jell-O. The glutton from s7ven believed that and look what happened to him! Beach got a fancy-pants new phone that probably cost more than my life. I couldn’t even satisfy his simple request to put my number into it because it was so complex. We played a get-to-know-each-other game that consisted of the telling of names, hometown and embarrassing or funny story of either us or somebody we knew. I chose myself since everything embarrassing or funny happens to me. I regaled and mesmerized everybody with the story of how I got hit by a car while peddling on my bicycle. Everybody got a kick out of it. Beach started laughing after the first sentence since he knew exactly where I was going with it. The actual life group went pretty well but assumed people listened to the sermon earlier in the morning. Having not attended H20, this was a problem for me. Just by listening I was brought up to speed very quickly, however, making it almost a non-issue. There are some heavy expectations with the group but it will be rewarding.

My day was much longer than two paragraphs, but I’ll leave the rest to the imagination, unlike the very skimpy outfit I currently have on! 😉

Raise your hand if you have a test this week. *raises hand!*
